Borg backup using borgmatic docker (for simplicity) and Vorta (for UI) - Any implications? #8142

Hi, I'm currently using borgmatic docker on QNAP server to backup my QNAP files to hetzner. At the same time I use Vorta (on macbook pro). I use vorta because I like to see visually (e.g. the number of archives done, pruning process, etc). One thing I noticed, when I connect to existing repository using Vorta, the log would display the following message: For example: Based on the old post (here), it seems this is expected. Because the repository is accessed by two different machines. As much as I like CLI, I like Vorta to use its UI functionality. With my current approach (accessing repositories from multiple devices - docker and Vorta), would there be any implications that you can think of? Thank you |

The only thing I think might be relevant to my question is "Can I backup from multiple servers into a single repository?"; where it is possible but not recommended; correct? PS: in my scenario, when vorta runs, I'll make sure the backup process (on borgmatic docker) is not running... |

I wouldn't recommend it for high security requirements or if time is more important than storage space. For other cases, it can be used. |
