Delete snapshots while backing up

I have read in roadmap "Async I/O -> Non-blocking storage operations". Would this allow to delete snapshots when a client is backing up? Would this allow running compact while backups are running?

No, this roadmap item is more about the internal sync/async architecture. It doesn't change the behavior. Currently most code, runs 'sync' which is fine for such a tool. Async would be more similar to Go or JS.
