Cutting a 0.17.9 release?

Thanks for landing #2152, which should unblock updating Fuchsia to 0.17.x. Are you planning on cutting a 0.17.9 release any time soon? We'd be okay forking 0.17.8 to include this patch if you're planning on doing a long development cycle for 0.17.x, but we could wait if you're planning on cutting a release in the next week or two.
