References aren't displayed properly.

Hi Laurent, @lgatto
I tried to get the references to work but it seems that they are not working with sandpaper::serve(). I am not sure how to approach it.
I did notice that using Visual mode in RStudio wraps the citation in brackets [@Broman:2018] and makes the citation visible when you hover over it but I don't think it should make a difference. Despite moving refs.bib and adding bibliography: refs.bib in the yaml front matter, the references section did not populate and neither did the citation get rendered on the web page as e.g. (Broman et. al., 2018).

Thank you for looking into this, Marcel.

@zkamvar - do you have an idea?

There is currently no support for references---I believe these were planned, but priorities shifted drastically when The Workbench was launched. There may be an issue in sandpaper somewhere for that, but you'll have to consult with either @ErinBecker or @froggleston as they are the maintainers of the project now.
