Template entity not working as expected

Hi,

I like your integration very much. Nice way of showing entities without using to much space on the dasboard.

I was trying to display a few power entities (solar power, battery power, etc...)
These values have some digits behind the comma and I would like to round them. But for some reason when using the value template. The value is not showing.

For example:

I try {{states('sensor.modbus_energy_meter_a_psolar' ) | round(0)}} => this shows a value in the developer tools template section. But not in the strip-card.
