How do I get links for assets from master?

So, we have this cf-remote tool which is great.

I am trying to get some stuff from the latest master build and I can't seem to get the incantation right. It always seems to select the default version. What's worse is I am pretty sure I have asked this question before, so I am making this mistake over and over again. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Solution

That is because master is considered a version. The correct command is:

$ cf-remote --version master list

Output, currently:

$ cf-remote --version master list

I hope that helps. (--edition enterprise is default so not needed, and --version option must come before the command, since it is a shared option between all commands).

Background

The --version option is used to select a version / release (such as master or 3.15.3). The tags you can specify after that, are used to select packages within a release, for example for platform:

$ cf-remote --version master list hub ubuntu

Improvements

We could certainly improve the user experience here:

• When not specifying --version, look through tags to see if one of them is a version, and just use that if it's found. (Just do what you expected).
• Print an error / warning if you try to put version numbers as tags

MMmmmmmmm thanks, at least I can come here and remind myself.

I think the problem is that I was seeing TAGS, and I was thinking git refspec, so any tag or branch I didn't think TAGS to select the package (hub vs agent) or the platform (ubuntu).
