Solution

That is because master is considered a version. The correct command is:

$ cf-remote --version master list

Output, currently:

$ cf-remote --version master list
Available releases: master, 3.17.0, 3.15.x, 3.15.3, 3.15.2, 3.15.1, 3.15.0, 3.15.0b1, 3.12.x, 3.12.6, 3.12.5, 3.12.4, 3.12.3, 3.12.2, 3.12.1, 3.12.0
Using master:
http://buildcache.cfengine.com/packages/testing-pr/jenkins-master-nightly-pipeline-666/PACKAGES_HUB_x86_64_linux_debian_7/cfengine-nova-hub_3.18.0a.eefee538b~12593.debian7_amd64.deb
