Proposed changes

  • Revisit Clarify your goals link language (content):
    • “Why Buy? Why Now?”
    • “Buy vs. Rent.”
  • Make the first action step in Prepare to Shop the “Clarify your goals” link in addition to a sidebar link.
  • Reduce pain of filling out long form (UI/design):
    • Hide/shorten financial goals helper text.
    • Make the alternatives multiple choice instead of text fields.
    • Add helper text in expandables to the Alternatives page.
  • Make results more useful (Content/UI/design):
    • Include the results chart
    • Include a link to a printable PDF
    • Brainstorm ways to give users more useful results from their inputs, rather than reflecting back what they have already typed in.

Questions to answer

  • Is the worksheet easy to fill out?
  • Is the information helpful to the consumer?
