Getting the Bot Up and Running

I will preface this by saying that I have no knowledge in coding and computer science, nonetheless, here is what I learned to start-up this bot (you might find that the bot is a waste of time, regardless it has immense potential, after months you could genuinely rack up enough coupons for an actual Xbox. However, the bot has some issues that need to be addressed):

1. Install Python

   • Download and install Python on your computer from this link. During the installation setup, make sure to check the option to add Python to PATH. Also, click on customize installation and check all the optional features.

2. Download the Code

   • Go to the code page (ctrl + click to open this link in a new tab).
   • Click on the big green button to download the ZIP file.

3. Unzip the File

   • Locate the downloaded ZIP file on your computer.
   • Unzip the file to access its contents.

4. Navigate to the Folder

   • Open the 'Microsoft-Rewards-Farmer-master' folder.
   • Copy the file explorer address of this folder. For example, the address could look something like this: C:\Users\YourUsername\Downloads\Microsoft-Rewards-Farmer-master.

5. Open Command Prompt

   • Open the Command Prompt (cmd).
   • Type cd followed by a space and paste the copied address. For example: cd C:\Users\YourUsername\Downloads\Microsoft-Rewards-Farmer-master, press Enter. After that, follow the below step.

6. Run Commands

   • Copy and paste the following commands into the Command Prompt and press Enter after each one:
     • pip install -r requirements.txt
     • pip install selenium --upgrade

7. Update the Code

   • Go to this URL to view three files that have been modified.
   • Click the copy buttons for each file to copy the new code.
   • Navigate back to the 'Microsoft-Rewards-Farmer-master' folder on your computer, find the corresponding files, open each one in Notepad, and replace the existing code with the new code you copied.

8. Get Assistance if Needed

   • If you need more help, use Bing AI chat in precise mode.

9. Follow the Rest of the Instructions

   • Follow the rest of the instructions provided here. Start from step 4.
   • Smooth sailing ⛵ from here, hopefully.

Generally I would say you are correct, but I install things a little differently..

1. Install Python 3
2. Browse where you want to install things and open a terminal from there
3. git clone https://github.com/charlesbel/Microsoft-Rewards-Farmer.git
4. cd "Microsoft-Rewards-Farmer"
5. pip install -r requirements.txt
6. pip install selenium --upgrade
7. pip install webdriver-manager (webdriver is managed automatically for chrome 15+)

Notes: This method is useful so that the repo can automatically update itself and it's pretty straight forward.

Additionally, someone should make a proper setup.py file so that all setup is handled by it and so that the repo could be completely installed via pip the following command (could also "update" selenium, install requirements, etc. automatically):
pip install git+https://github.com/charlesbel/Microsoft-Rewards-Farmer.git

Overall the project is useful, I've enjoyed using it and I'd like to contribute, so might just do this.

when i use the pip command, cmd tells me it is not recognized as an internal or external command. Ik the forum is old but please help

When installing Python, you need to check both boxes, What I did to fix my issue was uninstall python, then re-install it but I check BOTH boxes in the installer. Hope this helps!
