Compress my database or rebuild new?

Hi there, I am using XCA for private for a dozen certificates for free websites and I did my own CA. Because all my doing is trial and error and I mostly want have fun, all that isnt very professional. But my data grows... I am looking for a simple way to
1.unload all certificates data actual in my (visible?) database but in a reloadable form. All I tried will tend to unreadable forms, details and renames are lost and entries have alphanumeric names but not my symbolic.
2.Same as I try to load/unload complete from and to Thunderbird. Simple spoken all I can do is import certificates one by one into XCA
and again one by one into TB. My TB-export ist also not fine in XCA. I have 23 actual certificates...
3.a compress of my database. When deleting all certificates, the *.xdb remains still very big (up to 1 MB). I can of course create a very new DB from scratch but my problem remains: I have to import all one by one and all renames and adaptions are lost. Additionally I must remember a special kind of importing (first general CA then next level and so on), otherwise the most entries again never get or even lose symbolic names. So what about a clear "compress" losing all ten years old test trials but remain the hard worked adaptions :-)

P.S I now found the "output Database" but:

• it makes me 4 folders certificates, crls, keys, requests, each having 73 files mixed CRT and PEM same names in all 4 folders but different contents.
• How can I reread them into a new empty database and is it sure the whole contents?
