I tested the temporary script and found a startup issue.

The installer creates and uses /opt/matter-server/data, but the Matter/CHIP runtime still expects /data internally during initialization. On my test LXC, the service kept crashing with Failed to create temp file /data/chip_factory.ini: No such file or directory

Suggested change in install/matter-server-install.sh:

mkdir -p /opt/matter-server/data/credentials
if [ -L /data ]; then
  rm -f /data
fi
if [ ! -e /data ]; then
  ln -s /opt/matter-server/data /data
fi

and update the service to:

ExecStart=/opt/matter-server/.venv/bin/matter-server --storage-path /data --paa-root-cert-dir /data/credentials

I validated this in my test LXC. After adding the /data -> /opt/matter-server/data symlink, the service stayed up and started listening on port 5580.

Okay, i Change it tomorrow, sadly i cant test it, i dont have unconfigured Matter devices atm ^^
