libfreenect issue

hi, i'm trying to compile your apps (ofxRangeToWorldCuda and kinectShape) but i get a long list of errors pointing (undefined refrence) to libfreenect. Cuda i think is compiled . i set all the path include and lib (CUDA libfreenect, ...) have you had this kind of trouble? i m using your addon on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit with CUDA 4.2.9, codeblocks ,OF0071. I saw that you changed the makefile ( to compile .cu file with NVCC) , i 'm learning Cuda so your app will be a help to set CUDA with Openframeworks, Maybe you have other examples with Cuda and OF? This will be very appreciated...

Hi!
I think i will make some examples of OF+CUDA without kinect, it would be a useful demo. But now it depends on using kinect via ofxKinect.
So you can check if you put ofxKinect addon in to addons dir, and if it is in addons.make. You should use libfreenect packaged with ofxKinect, not the one from Ubuntu packages.
Also you can first make sure that ofxKinect example works (from develop branch of my fork: https://github.com/coolvision/ofxKinect/tree/develop)

This is how obj dir should look, notice object files for libfreenect in ./x86_64Release/addons/ofxKinect/libs/libfreenect and for CUDA sources in ./x86_64Release/addons/ofxRangeToWorldCUDA/src

as you can see libfreenect in not recognized. ( and i have it installed on my system)

USER_CFLAGS allows to pass custom flags to the compiler

for example search paths like:

-I ~/NVIDIA_GPU_Computing_SDK/C/common/inc

USER_LDFLAGS allows to pass custom flags to the linker

for example libraries like:

use this to add system libraries for example:

USER_LIBS = -lpango

USER_LIBS = -lusb-1.0 -lX11 -lcuda -L /usr/local/cuda/lib -L /usr/local/cuda/lib64 -lcudart

change this to add different compiler optimizations to your project

USER_COMPILER_OPTIMIZATION = -march=native -mtune=native -O3

EXCLUDE_FROM_SOURCE="bin,.xcodeproj,obj,all_addons"

But you have libfreenct installed? because looking on requirements spec. you says libfreenect-dev ... i will try to add a C_FLAGS for libreenect (those by ofxKinect) .
i will inform you of my progress!

this is my mistake, libfreenect-dev is not required, i should fix the readme.
you should copy ofxKinect to addons dir with the ofxKinect/libs directory, so that you would have /addons/ofxKinect/libs/libfreenect
it can be loaded from https://github.com/coolvision/ofxKinect/tree/master/libs/libfreenect for example

i solved the issue in this way.: your all_addons/ofxKinect/libs/libfreenect folder is incomplete .i replaced this with that one from github https://github.com/coolvision/ofxKinect/tree/master/libs/libfreenect .. now i have my app but i can't test it because at the moment i haven't my kinect with me. Please, fix also this. Anyway your project help me very much!
