Tribblix supports both amd64 and sparc. It has two variants: normal tribblix and omnitribblix.

The most useful thing of Tribblix compared to OmniOS and OpenIndiana is a tool named zap that makes system administration much easier. zap is both the name of the administration tool and the package manager. Tribblix packages are just compressed archives, making it much more lightweight compared to IPS.

There are already issues for DragonFly BSD #19 and OpenIndiana #20. I took the liberty to change this issue to only be for Tribblix. I prefer one issue per operating system/architecture.

FYI, I've tried to add support for OpenIndiana but the installation takes very long time and I have not been able to finish the installation. I had better luck with OmniOS, which managed to complete the installation.

When thinking about graphical Illumos, OpenIndiana is the most obvious choice. However, you’re right. The OpenIndiana installation is also slow for me, both on VirtualBox and real hardware. Sometimes it gets stuck for no apparent reason.

Fortunately, Tribblix can also serve as a desktop. It includes all the graphical libraries needed to build graphical software. Unlike OpenIndiana, it doesn’t offer a live graphical environment, though I think this is irrelevant in this context.
