Description
I just continued my discussion with @LisaSpitzer about adding a more detailed template for research transparency statement to papaja's manuscript skeleton. We were thinking about adding the Psychological Science template:
Research Transparency Statement
General Disclosures
Conflicts of interest: [response]. Funding: [response]. Artificial intelligence: [response] Ethics: [response]
Study One Disclosures
Preregistration: [response]. Materials: [response]. Data: [response]. Analysis scripts: [response]
Study Two Disclosures
Preregistration: [response]. Materials: [response]. Data: [response]. Analysis scripts: [response]
I think this is a quite nice statement, but it is also much more detailed and requires more guidance than the current "21-word solution". Maybe we can make this work by adding a comment with a link to an example (such as the one in the Psychological Science submission guidelines).
Another consideration is where to place the statement:
- At Psychological Science it is placed in between the Introduction and the first study section.
- Other journals place similar information before the reference section.
- Another option is to turn it into a box/float using callouts to separate it from the main text.
Any thoughts, @mariusbarth or anyone else?
