Feedback on Frame Integrity in the Dataset

Hi, thanks a lot for sharing this dataset and for your valuable contribution to the research community. Its quality and scope look very promising.

While exploring it, I noticed that several frames appear to be repeated across consecutive timestamps, as shown in GIFs 1 and 2. The 3D locations still look correct (GIF 3), but it might be worth checking the integrity of the image data or clarifying whether this is a known issue.

The above are only a couple of examples, but I have found probably tens of cases across all cameras.

Additionally, it seems that people standing under the roof are not annotated (at least in the first version). It would also be helpful if the dataset description could specify the dimensions and origin of the annotated region, similar to what is provided in the Wildtrack dataset.

Hi, thanks a lot for taking the time to explore the dataset so carefully and for the kind words.

Regarding the repeated frames you observed: yes, this is expected. During data acquisition, a small number of frames were corrupted, and repeated frames were intentionally inserted to replace them. The dataset should include files containing the timestamps of all frames, which should make it straightforward to identify these repeated frames programmatically.

Concerning the annotations, you are also correct that some regions were deliberately excluded. In particular, people standing under the roof are outside the annotated region. For each camera, we define a region of interest using 2D/3D maps and we are planning to publish these region-of-interest definitions soon and will update the dataset description.

The id in that file correspond to an older mapping, I believe that the mapping to the new one is as follows:
