Does archivemount support xattrs?

Me again :)

I'm using, and expanding the usage of Extended Filesystem Attributes (xattrs) for digital collection and data-management.

I'd like to use archivemount to be able to bi-directionally work and edit a mounted tar - including it's xattrs.
And I'm building up toolkits which have reliable and consistent support for attrs.

• Does archivemount handle xattrs?
• Are there any limit(ation)s? (4k, 64k, unlimited for key/value, for example)
• Could it be modified to support that?
• How hard (=much cost) would that be?

I've just read in https://github.com/cybernoid/archivemount, that WRITE is not supported.
Alright.

However, reading xattrs would still be very useful, so my questions still stand 😃
