hi i'm not sure i fully understood the issue but if you're saying that username field in the login is not consistent you should create a ticket on the HFS repository, this plugin works on top of that login system, introducing only 2factor authentication codes support

No, that's not the issue.
The issue is that 2FA is not enforced, if the username is entered with lowercase letters. It's up to you to decide where is the bug/culprit and escalate if appropriate. Since 2FA is not working appropriately, my bug report is with the plugin.
