Any idea about how I can try to troubleshoot this issue? I don't have any error in the log. |

I would suggest to first set the log leven to debug instead of warn. Then try to trigger a push and see if that generates something useful. |

I've tried to deauthorize all the sessions, uninstall the mobile app from my iPhone and reinstall it too, but it still doesn't work. Here the log during the registration process when the app ask me if I want to enable the push notifications. |

I run on a synology nas. I first deauthorized sessions and observed the iOS app didn't want to kick out, nor was notifications working still. Therefore I deleted the app and then reinstalled and that resolved the issue. I only get the notification if the app is already opened though. |

Yes I also only get the notifications when I manually open the app. Do you use a reverse proxy? Do you use vaultwarden through docker? |

Well before the sync wasn't working for me, and now that I did what I did, I tested the sync too and that is now working properly; at least meaning when I was testing the notifications and had the app open. If you are confirming that you are receiving the notification when app is open than that means it's working and is going thru as it should. If your specific issue is that you don't see the notification when the app is closed, I would direct that to bitwarden it has to be something on the client app. I don't think it's something in your exact setup since I can also replicate the same. Yes I use the built in reverse proxy and also container manager which is built on docker. |

Well this is really strange, I tried again, with the app closed I now get the banner notification. I don't get it. But then again it's never been a fully polished product. |

Are you able to test to see if it is still working? I did a deauth yesterday and noticed the ios client was not kicked. I then did it again today, now that I have access to a computer, and in doing so the same thing on chrome browser extension, it is not kicked out. |

I've tried to repeat the whole procedure requesting new token selecting US endpoint but without success:( Really absurd... The only remaining test is to spin up a fresh new container.... |

Maybe I found the issue.🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 @Gerardv514 can you check if on your device if you disable the "Background App refresh" you still receive the push notifications? |

I just did a quick test with a old iPhone 7 with iOS 15.8.3 and with my Pixel 7 with Android 15, with both v2025.1.0 of the client app.
So, I have really no clue why it wouldn't work somewhere else, i can unfortunately only conclude it works on both devices. In this case i used the EU endpoints, but it will probably be the same for the US ones. |

Well, i think that is not how it works. That is just how Android and iOS work. It's not something an app developer has any control over i think. |

In iOs the push notifications are managed by the operative system, not by the app itself as on Android. |

You are incorrect. On Android it is not handled by the app it self, it's by Google, same as for iOS by Apple. |

Even then there already was Firebase (or it was called differently). There are apps like Nextcloud which use websocket connections instead of Firebase. But that is not an option for Bitwarden and their cloud managed services. That would mean too much active network connections. |
