I had a chance to use dark on a learning day. First of all, I was very impressed with how fast I was able to send a curl request to a newly created http endpoint. The copy as curl option was a nice touch as well. It reinforces that what I’ve created is not just visual but has real functionality behind it. I hope dark can keep up this performance when it is rolled out to a larger user base.
A couple of points
the way objects link together would be clearer if there was a persistent visual cue at the moment the connection is only shown when I select one of the resources.
as a result of the above, it’s not immediately apparent how to link things together. Ie a worker and a data store , or a repl and a function. Does everything work in conjunction with everything else??
code editing: if the little boxes where code is input were expandable the experience would be better in my opinion. The coding type hints are a bit overwhelming as they seem squished into the small space.
I Found myself dragging canvas elements to be closer to one another as they were created in random places. Having a visual representation of a service is great — the challenge is to make it coherent.
tests? Metrics? Central logs? Tracing?
rollback to previous version of resource code would be helpful
I like the list of 404s. What about other status codes? 500s would be good to know about as well.
