Thanks for the report @kekoziar!
Is there another change you'd like to see here? |
This is part of an ongoing issue with ESA repeatedly breaking it's archival links. I recommend switching to the FigShare version, which has some issues, but will remain stable: https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.c.3301073 |
There should be two references listed under "citation" in the "Portal Project Teaching Dataset" box: the original dataset and the teaching dataset. Perhaps even change "Citation" to "References." This reinforces and models that it's not enough to say, "cite my work;" we need to provide complete citations when we use or refer to the works of others, not just a link. When a complete citation is provided, there is enough information so someone can find that resource, even if it doesn't include a persistent identifier. Here is a citation for the original dataset:

The link to the original dataset (http://esapubs.org/archive/ecol/E090/118/) is broken, and resolves the the archives page (https://esapubs.org/archive/). While changing the link from
http
tohttps
fixes the issue, proper reference is appreciated to model good data practices. The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
