Why can't I log in with the correct email and password anymore on my website?

Hi.

Without making any changes, suddenly I can't log in into my Yellow-powered website (website.com/edit/). It just doesn't respond to my email address and password. When I type in the info, it just refreshes the website. I have even changed the password through the "Forgot your password link?".

I have also made a test folder, and uploaded a fresh Yellow into it, and it still happens. At first, it lets me in (and I can see the settings), but as soon I try to edit a site it asks for login/password without accepting it.

I have enabled debug mode, and get this:

It's mostly this error since 2025-10-17 (repeating):

When did you last update your website?

It was on 2025-10-16.
I guess this is right there, my web hosting provider made those PHP changes.

What's missing in your log file is the version of the core extensions and the edit extension.
Can you check the VERSION in file system/workers/core.php and system/workers/edit.php?

This sounds like a known problem after website update, see #1043 and #475.

I cleared the browser cache, but the problem persists. I did the same both in Firefox and Chrome.

I have still an unsolved issue here, even though I am in contact with my web hosting support.

I tried to wipe the whole site and installed Yellow again from scratch. But I've got this error message: Datenstrom Yellow requires rewrite support!

So I looked into Troubleshooting, and used this .htacccess code for Apache:

Okay, so the guys from my hosting provider finally found a solution to my problem.
They modified my .htaccess to following settings (and they should not be removed):

Can someone explain to me what is the reason that it was needed to modify .htaccess?
Is it some change that was made either by a recent server update (hosting provider) or some Yellow CMS element/extension update?
