Is it possible to specify the number of columns instead of the image size in the gallery?

Hello!
Is it possible in gallery plugin to set how many columns of pictures will be in the gallery? Now you should set pictures size in pixels, which is not easy. I even wrote a script which calculate this pixel size on Powershell.

$width = 879
$border = 4
$row = read-host "Enter a number of columns you want"
($width - $border * ($row - 1)) / $row

Wordpress, which has many drawbacks in comparison with Yellow, has not bad gallery with this very useful feature:
