Show blog's title and description in the root page?

Hi, I created a blog page and I would like to know how I enter the blog title (name) in the root page?

Layout: blogpages

But I wish I could put:

Would it be possible to do something like this to make the blog's name and description appear at the top of the page where blog posts are listed? I ask because I'm creating more than one blog using this CMS, that despite being simple compared to WordPress, it meets my needs.

To adjust the blogpages layout, edit the file system/layouts/blogpages.html. The documentation provides some usage examples. Here is an example to show the blog page content (content/2-blog/page.md or any other blog folder) above the actual blog entries.

But, it seems to me, that it does not work currently. I'm not familiar in PHP-programming to understand, why it fails.

It should work, because it is in the code

I made some further tests. If I use TitleHeader, and I modify the code as follows

I get the code working. "titleContent" seems to be empty. But why it is, I can't recognize.

What IngoBelka said makes sense, if I put "TitleHeader" it works. But a curious thing happens. If I add "TitleContent" in page.md and change the corresponding lines in "blogpages.html", "TitleContent" to "TitleHeader", it works too.
At least in both cases, it works the way I wanted, all that's left now is to make the line with the short description of the blog appear.

PS: If I change in "blogpages.html", "TitleContent" to "TitleHeader" and removing the "TitleHeader" from "page.md", keeping only the "Title", works too.

In fact, for what I want, "TitleContent" should work and not show me a blank space. I don't understand why only in "blogpages.html" doesn't work. Because if I use "TitleHeader", it removes the site name. So my only way out would be to make "TitleContent" work.

The problem is that for that, I would have to change something in "blog.php", which would be bad, because every update would have to change again.

Thanks for your tests and feedback. I can confirm a little design flaw in the blog extension, and we have put improvements on our todo list which allow more flexibility in the blogpages layout. An update should be on its way soon.

An update for the blog extension has just been published, fixing content title display in the blogpages layout. As previously shown, you now should be able to display your desired content above blog pages list. Here are the other improvements from this update:

• Replaced layout blogpages with blog-start to avoid confusion with blogpages shortcut
• Updated file blog.html, replaced getPage("blog") with getPage("blogStart")
• Renamed setting BlogLocation to BlogStartLocation

The website update should automatically do the hard work, however it is always worth checking your files after update and apply custom code if necessary. Don't hesitate to ask for further help. 😁

I did some tests here and it didn't work as it should, but I made a small change in "blog-start.html".
I added this line:
<h1><?php echo $this->yellow->page->getHtml("titleContent") ?></h1> after this: <?php endif ?>

Only after this change, the title started to be displayed on the blog's home page. I don't know if this just happened to me, but at least it worked. I was also in doubt, if the original "blogpages.html" could not work this way either.

I experienced the same behaviour. The new blog-start.html looks for a value blogWithFilter, that might be empty in many cases, and therefore it doesn't work out of the box. But where should one set this value?

In addition there is a new CSS class layout-blog-start, wich substitutes layout-blogpages, what wants one to edit the users CSS file.

Ok, there are no more statements for a couple of days, since the new version of Blog plugin is released.

So, I'd like to share my page.md wich is working without any changes/hacks on the code:

Title: Neuestes
Layout: blog-start
LayoutNew: blog
TitleContent: BlogName-TestBlog
BlogWithFilter: 1
---

But beware the need to edit your CCS-file and substitue the class "layout-blogpages" (if you used it) with "layout-blog-start". Otherwise your layout is broken.

I undid my changes and did it your way, it really works and it's even better.
It would also be nice if the developer had explained how this change works, I don't like to guess things.
