Based on previous testing, the most volatile benchmarks may benefit from doing a warmup of the operation before it is the measured.

do a static warmup based on a small amount of data
- as a first pass, doing a static warmup for both make sense
allow the warmup to be optional
testing with warmups will determine is warmups are on by default
