Currently I have my 3DS set to "normal boot" purely so that, when I boot the system, I can see the actual true battery percentage.
I was thinking that this information of the exact charge level could maybe be included in the splash screen (perhaps in big bold numbers, kind of like what some smartphones do if you tap the power button when they're in an off state but charging).
