Configuring IBM Watson Speech to Text

IBM Watson Speech to Text is a service with a free tier that enables you to solve audio challenges. The following guide will help you to configure the extension to use this service.

Get an API key

1. Go to IBM Cloud, create an account and log in
2. Go to Speech to Text, select a location for the service and click on Create
3. After the service is created, go to Service credentials and expand the Auto-generated service credentials item by clicking on the ∨ button
4. Copy the value of apiKey without quotes, this is the API key

Configure the extension

1. Open the extension's options
2. Under Speech service select IBM Watson Speech to Text
3. Under API location select the location of the service you have created
4. Paste the API key you have previously copied from IBM Cloud into the API key field

The extension is ready to use, and the options page can now be closed.
