My family got 2 black kittens! They are so cute. I made an account on the fediverse as an outlet for my cat pictures at <a href="https://kitty.social/@big" target="_blank">@big@kitty.social</a>. 🐾

Spending an almost surprising amount of time watching YouTube videos (my Watch Later playlist went from staying around 500 videos to about 450 today!), reading posts on the <a href="https://kitsunes.club/@xan">fediverse</a>, and opening new tabs in <a href="https://zen-browser.app/" target="_blank">Zen browser</a>.

School started again, and I'm taking a few different college classes. They seem really centered around self and wellness, which I find really interesting and beneficial! New ADHD medication doesn't seem to give me any effects besides an increased heartrate and one that's easier to feel. I get to take a bus with the <a href="https://transitapp.com/" target="_blank">Transit app</a>, which is fun. (I had a bike accident a month ago and it hurt! I blame the poorly designed layout around the curb that caused me to fall. Curse you, unthoughtful city planner(s)!)

My local school district superintendent sought me out a while after they learned that I owned a domain with their name. We had a nice chat and then I emailed them a few days later (finished drafting but forgot to hit send) asking to allow some software on student devices, like <a href="https://obsidian.md/" target="_blank">Obsidian</a>.

Started work on <a href="https://puter.group" target="_blank">puter.group</a>'s website. The domain will have a webring and fediverse instance in the future, ran by <a href="https://swaggy.dev" target="_blank">Swaggyware</a>! (wait, but what if I made a webring for everyone with my name...)

The services on my Contabo-hosted VPS server keep becoming inaccessible (first a month ago, then the sever became read-only, and that combined with a fix might've caused breakage. Happened for a second time) and it might be them being malicious or scamming me by thorttling my connection to 10MB/s, even though <a href="https://contabo.com/blog/vps-100-mbits-limit-throttling/" target="_blank">they promise 100MB/s at the minimum</a>... Definitely won't be using them in the future. This seems like the most likely reason, with the SSH connection and different websites all functioning poorly or not at all.

I normally speak in a monotone, and I like using a deadpan delivery of humor to make others laugh. I spend a lot of time chatting with friends <a href="https://xanation.xan.lol" target="_blank">on Discord</a>, where I own a couple <a href="https://servers.xan.lol/">servers</a>. I also browse YouTube, the Fediverse, the whole {indie} internet, and on <a href="#socials">more social platforms</a>. But when I'm not online, I'm taking public transit to the library, playing card games, reading a book, or using hardware offline. 😼📸 I use my Google Pixel 6 or other cameras to take photos, like the ones on this site's <a href="#homepage">homepage</a> and <a href="https://photography.xan.lol" target="_blank">photography.xan.lol</a>.

I sometimes use YouTube Music to find songs to listen to and then download, increasing the number of hours <spoiler-text>(>42 as of April '23)</spoiler-text> of music on my phone, so I always have something to listen to. I listed a ton of my favorite musicians (and films, games, & content creators) on <a href="https://faves.xan.lol/" target="_blank">faves.xan.lol</a> so that I can remember them all <strong>[HORRIBLY OUTDATED]</strong>. I also have a <a href="https://www.last.fm/user/XanSurnamehere" target="_blank">Last.fm</a> account that's way more up-to-date.

I like eating vegan ice cream (ex: Ben And Jerry's Non-Dairy Cherry Garcia) and other plant-<strong>based</strong> foods. I chose the diet/lifestyle after learning about the vast health benefits, even though I lack more empathy for those so-called livestock. <spoiler-text>Animal products cause more carbon emissions than the entire transportation sector!!?</spoiler-text>

The first name 'Xan' comes from the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Quintet" target="_blank">Time Quintet</a>/<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Wrinkle_in_Time" target="_blank">A Wrinkle in Time</a> series. And while the last name 'Surnamehere' was an original thought that's much more modern, it could be considered important in elements of my <a href="https://textbased.xan.lol/" target="_blank">lore</a>.

It's possible that you learned that I was alive through my <a href="https://scratch.mit.edu/users/-Xanimation-" target="_blank">Scratch presence</a>. Xan.lol was originally made with no-code site building service <a href="https://carrd.co/" target="_blank">Carrd.co</a>, but after having a good time paying for its top teir and not coding much myself, I decided to export my sites. The source code of this one is now available on <a href="https://github.com/devxan/site" target="_blank">GitHub</a> (under a Mozilla Public License and Creative Commons BY-NC-SA) and is hosted with <a href="https://pages.cloudflare.com/" target="_blank">Cloudflare Pages</a>.

I use <a href="https://contabo.com" target="_blank">Contabo</a> to host my own <a href="https://coolify.io/" target="_blank">Coolify</a> instance, which is connected to a few xan.lol subdomains. I often think about updating this main site to have more content in the form of a microblog (&/or a full blog), integrations with services I use (<a href="https://codepen.io/Scarecr0w/pen/qxwMKo" target="_blank">Last.fm</a>, <a href="https://github.com/Phineas/lanyard" target="_blank">Discord</a>, etc.), lists of my <a href="https://faves.xan.lol" target="_blank">favorite things</a>, and a better layout.</span></p>
