NAM and Similar LV2 Plugin Request

Hi, the latest release is not loading the NAM models. Saying no such file found on my Galaxy S9+.

Hi,
Are you loading a zip file or a .nam file? If possible, attach it here or add a link. I think it has something to do with content resolvers. The file loader treats paths which start with "/" as absolute paths in the app directory, and everything else as content URIs which are returned by the file picker.

Basically, I'm loading the .NAM files after extracting from the downloaded zip. Like, X.NAM located inside the X folder inside the Android default Download folder.

Hi, I've just pushed an update containing
hold for applause
an impulse response loader!
Build 4.2

It's based on the Impulse response plugin from the legendary SWH LADSPA plugins by the one and only Steve Harris. It's got some nice cab IRs built in, and can load a user selected file.

Kindly do test and report any bugs.

Thank you for your excellent work.

I just tried it and I stumbled upon some serious issues on my Galaxy S9+, Exynos, Android 10.

Issues :

• The NAM plugin can not load either zip or NAM mimetypes. When I browse through the file manager they're shown but greyed out as an indications of not supported formats probably.

• Secondly, while the IR loader is working functionally it is not usable due to lot of noise being introduced upon turning it on.

• The third problem is the IR loader does not show the custom IR wav files I load, not even the name appers when I load one. However the existing presets work with that noise issue.

Hi, the IR loader seems to be working fine for me, both the built-in ones and ones loaded by the user. If possible, share the IR file and an audio sample of how it sounds on Amp Rack, I can try to figure out what the problem might be.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I tried recording with my S9+ but it won't so I tried with my Pixel 6a and the latest build. The NAM works flawlessly now, it's such a good part of the app now. I love it. However here is an audio record demo of the noise problem of the IR loader.

I'm using Behringer Guitar Link as my audio interface as guitar input and android h2w 3.5mm output/Device speaker as output. It works fine without enabling the IR plugin. However in record the noise issue persists even without IR Plug-in enabled while in monitoring mode it's sounding super clean without any noise. That's weird!

Hi,
I the issue here might be due to latency. I also faced intermittent glitches like the ones in your audio, and found that the issue would go away when I turned the app off and on a couple of times. On further tinkering, it was definitely (I think) a latency issue.

So I've updated a new release (https://github.com/djshaji/amp-rack/releases/tag/4.4)
which has the following improvements:

• I've added clang C++ optimization flags (-O3) and removed any debug flags which might cause the code to run slower.
• I've added an improved latency tuner UI (overflow menu ➡️ Latency Tuner) which shows the round trip latency in real time and has controls to tweak it.

Do try it and see if it helps.
