Welcome to the Basegun wiki! It explains how the product Basegun has been developped by the Data Lab of the French Ministry of Interior.

Basegun's objective is to provide an application to the French law enforcement forces to help them identify weapons they find during their missions. This application is based on image recognition.

This product has gone through the following steps:

• Defining the scope of the product and user needs
• Building a Dataset of gun images
• Train an AI algorithm on the Dataset
• User validation
