When changing the orientation of a Surface Pro 6 the display rotates just fine, however, when using either touch input or pen input, the movements top-bottom register as left-right, and vice versa, which seems to indicate that they don't get reoriented.
For reference, the kernel and extra tooling I used for this can be found described here, particularly the following packages: linux-headers-surface linux-image-surface linux-libc-dev-surface surface-ipts-firmware linux-surface-secureboot-mok libwacom-surface

Something I noticed is, when screen is in portrait orientation, the input seems to be getting scaled. e.g. moving my finger or pen all the way from one edge to the other horizontally causes the cursor to move the whole length of the screen vertically, and vice versa - despite the difference in length
