Add climavision radar sites #207
Comments
I reached out to Climavision last June and got this response:
Unless they change their offering, I won't be able to offer free access to their suite. If they happen to follow an open standard, similar to experimental sites like MZZU or others, I could offer a way to plug their site in, assuming you have independent access to their data. If Climavision has opened their offering to non-commercial use, I'd love to hear about it. |
I Emailed them about it a few weeks back, I think it is very commercial offering. They did say keep an eye out for Apps in the future. I would love to see someone with these sites. |
I will periodically check back into their offering. Additionally, if a service such as AllisonHouse is able to sign a redistribution agreement, that could also enable an easier path toward integrating their data. |
Ill keep an eye out as well. Thanks |
As noted, Climavision is a subscription service. However, some our Furuno X-band radars are available to people who have access to Allision House. Is there a way to add a customradar.gis file to Supercell Wx? I would be happy to provide the .gis file. |
That would likely help, but there a couple caveats:
|
Our radars have converters for NEXRAD Level 2, NetCDF, HDF-5 formats. |
In that event, most of the effort would be supporting the data feed format. I presume it would be ONDAS: https://allisonhouse.com/Documents/ondas.txt |
If it is possible, I would like to request the addition of Climavision patch radar sites used by the NWS. We have one of these radars in our county seat and haven't found a way to view the data yet.
