Issue with pip install and netcdf4?

Im trying to install this (awesome) package but I keep running into a failure point that seems to be associated with the netcdf4 package. A few example screenshots are attached. Has anyone else run into this issue before and know of a solution? Can I change something in my environment to get around this?

Hi Hannah, pip seems to be trying to build a netcdf4 wheel. Compilation of the C code fails here. I guess a precompiled wheel is not available for your OS + architecture.

https://pypi.org/project/netCDF4/#files seems like only MacOS 12.0+ is supported...

You could try to install the dependencies of this package from conda-forge, and then only install dtscalibration through pip. Conda-forge probably does have a valid compiled netcdf4 version.
To install dtscalibration without dependencies you can do pip install --no-deps dtscalibration

We didn't get around before to put this package on conda-forge, but that's actually not too difficult, so maybe I'll do that soon. However that will take a bit of time to get approved and merged, so it's probably best not to wait on that 😉

Thanks! Ill try this. I appreciate the support. This isn't the first time Ive run into issues with netcdf4 on this computer :/

The package is now available on conda-forge as well. You should be able to install it in a conda (or mamba) environment with the following command;

conda install conda-forge::dtscalibration

This should also install all required dependencies.
