Bug description

Very often (but not always) when I start a MIDI track, the "Unexp. MIDI Status!" appear, although the sounds is OK. It also happens regardless being MT-32 or FluidSynth.
Using a 5V to 3.3V level shifter to convert the TTL level of the sound card to 3.3V.

Why do you think think this is a bug in mt32-pi? This error is shown if mt32-pi receives garbage. Most likely you need to fix your hardware/PC setup or the game itself is bugged.

Hi Dwhinham. Thanks for you reply. I'm pretty sure there are some garbage coming from the WaveBlaster header. I've tried two different boards (Yamaha and ESS chipsets) with the same result. You asked for posting the circuit of a TTL to GPIO direct conversion using a level-shifter and that's what what I did: It works but with that particular error message, at least coming from the WaveBlaster. The other possibility is related the the 5V to 3.3V conversion, instead of garbage coming from the sound card.
I should try the TTL leves coming from the Gameport but It should be the same "garbage" AFAIK.
