Describe the bug
Line numbers in the Eclipse Java IDE often glitch on GNU/Linux systems using Wayland.

To Reproduce

  1. Open the Eclipse Java IDE in a Wayland session on a GNU/Linux system
  2. Open a Java source file
  3. Start typing and scrolling up and down. At some point the line numbers will display repeated/incomplete characters, or plain wrong numbers

Expected behavior
Line numbers should always look fine.
