Steps to reproduce

Pre-req: Have a working login with Element X

  1. Login to Element Web
  2. Try to verify Element Web session with another device
  3. Open up Element X
  4. ???
  5. Nothing happens
  6. Close verification box on Element Web, and try verification with another device again
  7. ??? - Nothing happens. Even if Element X is open, in the foreground, subsequent requests do not show up.

Note: If Element X is open when the first verification request comes in, it appears to work fine. (I did just try to verify this claim (a few minutes after creating this issue). Though it didn't work this time either. It worked the first time I tried incoming verification (app was open in the foreground, when I clicked it in Element Web), but retrying it now, I'm seeing the same behaviour)

I tried this with the latest Element version from app.element.io (Element version: 1.11.85
Crypto version: Rust SDK 0.7.2 (517d99b), Vodozemac 0.7.0)

Outcome

What did you expect?

Element X shows the verification pop-up when I open the app. If it was not in the foreground when it was sent.

What happened instead?

Element X does not show any verification pop up (and no way to trigger it manually) if the app was not in the foreground when it was first sent.
