Description
What Happened?
So, I'm a fresh user of Elementary OS, version 8.0.2, with the latest updates.
I really like the Sunset to Sunrise setting and also grown to like the Night Light. When the time comes, the theme switches to dark/light as it should, but the Night Light is not. Well, I see it is trying, as in the icon on the wingpanel appears and the system thinks it is in night light mode, but the color temperature is not changed. Also toggling the snooze button or modifying the temperature with the slider have no visible effect.
If I log out and back in, than everything works, the color temperature is changed, the button and slider have the expected effect.
Usually I observe this behavior in the evening, light to dark change, in the morning by the time I log in, the change has already occurred and everything is good. This happens on a laptop on the external monitor with the laptop monitor closed/folded down.
Since I'm a new Linux user maybe I messed something up myself, this is not out of the question. Also, this is more of an annoyance than a real bug, but maybe someone has a clue about it.
Thanks!
Steps to Reproduce
Went to Settings > Desktop > Appearance, activated Sunset to Sunrise, Dim wallpaper as well
Went to Settings > Displays > Night Light, activated and checked Sunset to Sunrise
Expected Behavior
Expected to have Night Light during... Sunset to Sunrise, it only works if I log out and back in after the icon appears on the Wingpanel.
