We’re looking for new language translations

ReMemory is already translated into:

• Traditional Chinese
• Brazilian Portuguese
• Slovenian
• English
• Spanish
• German
• French

We are now looking for translations into additional languages (anything not listed above).

Why this matters

ReMemory is meant to be usable by non-technical people in stressful situations. A good translation can make the difference between being able to recover and giving up.

How to help (easy path)

Comment on this issue with:

• The language you want to add (and if relevant, the locale, e.g. nl, ar, ja, hi, tr, ko, etc.)
• Whether you want to do: full translation or review/corrections
• If you’re comfortable, add a short note about your fluency (native/near-native/etc.)

Or simply, open up a PR with the new language you'd like to introduce! You can start by looking at the translations folder.

Translation guidelines (so it stays consistent)

• Prefer clear, simple wording over literal translation.
• Keep the tone calm and supportive.
• If a sentence feels awkward in your language, rewrite it so it sounds natural. Think about how you would talk to a family member.
• Don’t translate product names / commands unless it’s clearly better in your language.

Credit

Contributors will be credited in the project (and in release notes when the language ships), unless you prefer to stay anonymous.

I could help with Catalan (ca). I'm native. I've seen translation folders and I could do it during this week (when my 1yo daughter allows me). Would be trivial for me if I look at Spanish translations (also native) ones and just translate it naturally.
