Using pluging doesn't preserve manual label auxiliary storage but using core change datasource does

When I use the plugin I loose the manual label location and the ability to move them while using the core function keeps everything OK, I suspect it has something to do with the internal id of the layers.

Weirdly enough replace and apply have different behaviors, using replace seem to keep the auxiliary labels but using apply which makes the layers green drops them
