phing-latest.phar in repository/package

Hello there

I don't question the merits of using phing in this project, however I question the fact of having the phar directly in the repository, indeed this file alone consumes half of the total size of the project.

Would it be possible to replace it with the phing/phing package in dependence of this project and use it as such?
