Release the data-plane selector to finalize the private data-plane launch.

Below are the base requirements for this feature:

  • Remove the data-plane selector feature flag (i.e., dataPlaneOption).

  • Remove all unused data-plane gateway assets in the codebase (e.g., environment variables, types, utils, etc.).

  • Operational support. Improve the ability to monitor data-planes and shard restarts.
  • Backend support. Add a validation check to the control-plane to prevent tasks running in a private data-plane from reading collections that exist within the public data-plane.

BLOCKED: the data-plane selector feature flag should remain intact until there is greater support for monitoring and troubleshooting EU data-planes.

BLOCKED: the data-plane selector feature flag should remain intact until a validation check is added to the control-plane to ensure tasks running in a private data-plane cannot read from collections in the public data-plane.
