IIRC: When you install Ubuntu using the script and reboot into Ubuntu (Ctrl+L) you should have been greeted with a system config dialog asking you to enter all required info [Timezone, login, keyboard etc]. If you never saw that or are getting the default Chrome login, something went wrong. Hope this helps. |
I appreciate ur feedback. Yes something went wrong surely given that i dont have the sys config dialog. Let me give it a try again. In the mean time, i found that the partition that i have allocated for chubuntu won't go back to the original setting even if i get back to the original setting (i.e. sys os verification on). Would you please let me know how i can make it into the original factory setting of chromebook? Always thank you for your help and look-forward your feedback. Euc

To restore your cb to factory see here https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/1080595 Once you'd installed Ubuntu and rebooted into it again you should have seen something like the section titled "Phase 3. End-user configuration/"installation"" in this link http://askubuntu.com/questions/36671/how-do-i-pre-install-ubuntu-for-someone-oem-install If not you may want to take a look at the log folder in the directory where you ran the installer script (main.sh). |
Hi there,
I am kind of new to Ubuntu in Chromebook so, please allow me to ask some help here. :-)
I just followed the installation instruction in the README.md to have an Ubuntu with only
guest login option. (Acer C-720). In the script, I could not find any option to set up user account with root authentication. You know, I have only little things to do with my guest account in Ubuntu. OMG...
would you please help me out how I can create an account in Ubuntu with the current installation script here?
Best wishes and thanks for your help in advance.
