I have this problem since a couple of days, didn't change anything prior to getting the error, and it worked fine to build and launch my app before then.

Did you solve this? I've tried everything :( Please reply if so

This looks related - facebook/react-native#46355

As per the comment on the above, I updated all devDependencies in package.json to match https://github.com/react-native-community/template/blob/0.76-stable/template/package.json for my project and got past the 'Unexpected token' error
