Question 1: Default search parameters for data entry changed? [NH]

Description: I thought when entering Collector or Identifier parties in a Botany Catalog record that EMu was set to automatically search FMNH Masters and Botany Masters. (Useful when there weren’t too many FMNH Masters). Now it seems to search everything, which will really slow down data entry (having to select from huge lists). Did you change these settings or are there just more FMNH Masters? …. I was delusionally hoping that it could be filtered by Security Department. [To clarify, I’m talking about how many records pop up in a list when you enter a string of text into the Collector / Identifier field.] - Nancy H.

For this one, the current RRCuser search-default in catalog for the 'Collector' & 'Identified by' fields filters for:

• Party Type = ^Person$
• Source = Action, Botany, FMNH, or RRC

I think Collector was missing the 'Person' filter up until a minute ago, which may have been part of the issue -- could you check it?

If it's still not filtering how you prefer, let us know & can try restricting further.

[NH] OK, it's not picking up collaborations now, and I did notice it was before, so that helps... But I got from Sharon that she wants all our records to become FMNH Masters?? So if from here forward we entered everything as an FMNH Master, it WILL start to clog up the searches, and will actively generate errors in adding Taxonomic Name authors. .... Is it possible to filter searches with SecDept=Botany? That way FMNH Masters could be included only if relevant. thanks!
