Soldering

When starting assembly begin with smallest components, like resistors and diodes and continue with bigger

  • Some of components needs to be skipped (D6 like patch diode).
  • Also for manufactured version from EasyEDA SKIP 33pf capacitors (C1,C2,C3).

Verify voltages

Voltages

Dots on pin header are for putting 12v,points with voltages are places to verify voltage with multimeater.

  • Those voltages are maximum values.
  • The voltage tolerance is 0.6V
  • When measuring voltages PCB need to be disconnected from everything
  • Best practise is to make this test after soldering resistors and zener diodes, without any capacitors.
  • Components marked with cross needs to be skipped
  • Temperature sensor U3 must be installed into passenger compartment, not over the PCB. (use earphones shielded wire)
  • Isolate Arduino Mega 2560 USB with electrical tape
  • Keep capacitor's legs short as possible!

Trimmed lcd

Mounting in car

This is highly recommended mounting place for ArduinoMid!!!

The compartment behind this panel have easy access for future add-ons Compartment

Stock MID connector can be easily moved from top compartment to lower.

Fitting 240x64 in central console

In order to fit this huge display in top small compartment, you need to trim bottom edges of the LCD.

  • Don't ever, ever, ever use hot glue around display!!! - Impossible things happens
  • Be careful not to cut some of PCB display traces - Remove only "copper plate area" Trimming1

Also for more better sticking into central console display hole, trim the factory display stand.

Trimming3

To attach it to central dashboard, mounting brackets are needed: See mounting brackets
