My heat pump occasionally goes offline due to an issue with the breaker (which i'm working on). The Kumo Cloud app knows when the device is offline, but it still appears active and controllable in my HomeKit app. Is there anyway for the bridge to detect and report when the device is offline?

That sounds like a great idea. I'll take a look and see if I can find a way to detect a non-responsive device and report it to HomeKit in a sensible way.
