No name in the qso log entry for mode mfsk sub ft4

I got a lot of ft4 qso's on 10m this afternoon and none of them have anything in the Name field. While I was working them the name was showing in the Name field of the call entry area, but not in the log.

You can try to disable the QSY Wiping or also in WSJTX uncheck the Clear DX Call after QSO

I just discovered that if I turn off Multi Answering Standard (MASTP) in MSHV, the names started showing in the Names field again for all new QSO's. I also ran Log4om at the same time and, with the same QSO, the Name field was filled in correctly. Why does Log4om fill in the field and QLOG doesn't, when the MASTD mode is used in MSHV? Both programs are receiving the same UPD QSO message.

One thing you can do is do a batch lookup in QLog for those QSOs. You can select a bunch then right click->Update from Callbook

It will add missing information - it will not overwrite any thing already entered.

I'm still having this issue. Today I switched to the new wsjtx v3 and I still don't get names when a qso is logged. I was running Log4om also and it shows the name in the qso. As Michael pointed out, I can use the Update from Callbook function but I shouldn't have to. Most logging software, at least the ones I've use, would automatically fill in missing info, like name or grid, in a qso using QRZ.

Have you disabled QSY Wiping in the Rig Settings as Michael mentioned above?

QSY Wiping is not on.

The problem is QLog pulls the information from the New Log Entry panel in QLog. So without QSY Wiping it pulls the QRZ info as well as POTA/SOTA or any notes. With MSHV it could send several entries so it wouldn't work.

QLog doesn't get the info from the New Log Entry panel. I just logged 4 new ft8 qso's that all showed the name in the Name field in the New Entry Panel, but the Name field was empty when the QSO was entered in the log.

It should as long as you have QSY Wiping turned off and this turned off in WSJT.

After some more testing I think I've found out what's going on.
When JTDX and MSHV upload QSO's to a logging program the data includes the Name, etc. WXJT-X does not include the Name when it uploads to a logging program. I wish it did.
Most logging programs like Log4om, ACLog, and HRD Logbook will automatically fill in missing fields in a newly uploaded qso like Name, Grid, etc. QLog doesn't do this automatically. I wish it did.

Sorry, but I'm kind of lost in this discussion. QLog fill missing fields for several versions, if you have one of the two supported Callbooks enabled.

I have a paid QRZ. QLog will fill in missing info, IF you right click on a log entry and select 'Update from Callbook'. However it will not automatically update a new QSO if it has missing fields. Most other logging software will do that, log4om, aclog, hrd logbook will all do it automatically.

My testing setup:

QLog 0.46.2 (callbook QRZ.COM, I don't have a problem with QSY wiping because rig split is on.)
wsjtx 3.0.0-rc1
QSO logging is simulated via WSJTX's button "Log QSO".

As you can see, the name and other fields are filled as I wrote.
