What do you think of the axes being flipped on the tables? I really like this view, but find that the x-axis is so long and the y-axis only has a view items on it. It'd be easier to read if all the permissions were along the left side and the profile/permission set(s) are along the top.

I could work on another pull request, but wanted to ask first.

I think it's a fine idea to make that an option. I tried to make the
component structure abstract enough that one could easily flip columns and
rows, but stopped short of doing what you point out. I do think the
current view works well for widescreen monitors in landscape orientation;
your suggestion would work well for those in portrait orientation.

There are a bunch of other usability options that one could incorporate
into this as well. Filtering of data down to the desired set, persisting
of options, how best to scroll larger data sets, etc. I forget all the
other things that we tossed out as options, but I'm sure there were others.

If you feel motivated to make such improvements and share them with the
community, I'm happy to take the merge requests.

Cheers,
