I found the pacing and structure of the class a little difficult sometimes, especially with consistently stopping everything to ask people to sign up for things. With that in mind I have some suggestions for how to change the structure a little to hopefully give everyone something to do while still letting us give everyone as much support as they need.
Before Session
Pre-course email asks student to sign up for:
Github
FreeCodeCamp
Gitter (maybe we can already include Gitter room?)
Codepen
As students are coming in
Slide on screen reminding them to sign up for everything while they wait to start
Attendance sheet is passed around
During the course
Whole session is built into the slides, with placeholder slides to remind teacher when to go to different websites to show things (reduces constantly switching between the course info, slides, and other sites)
Go through FAC intro, intro to HTML, and intro to FCC before checking that people have signed up to everything. We can go around helping people that haven't signed up to do so, while people that already have signed up can get started on FCC. More time will be assigned to this section.
Structure
FAC intro
Course intro
Web pages and HTML
Work: FCC and sign up time 30min+
Dev tools (I like doing this section but feel like it lacks relevance to anything else in the course this day. Not sure what to do there though.)
Pair programming
Intro to the tribute page exercise and running through demo page
Intro to creating and setting up a new pen
Work: Tribute page and pair programming 30min+
5-10 min before End: Explanation of forking pen, and homework for next week
