Cache

There are multiple cache systems in MediaWiki and related technologies or services (like Memcached). It's a big topic. Meanwhile, there is no documentation for the Meza system related to caching. We need documentation about the use cases, and options available for site administrators / operators. The project itself needs scrutiny for how well it utilizes the various cache mechanisms - for simple responsiveness as well as scalability and security.

This is a discussion topic, which should generate a task to audit and review the caching in Meza to produce baseline documentation plus recommendations on enhancements.

Meza

Meza has used a combination of memcached and no cache since 2015 with the parser cache being turned off due to a bug in the header/footer extension!
