<p style="font-size: 3.5vw;" dir="rtl">הפעם האחרונה שבה שוחח איתן עם הוריו הייתה כמה דקות לפני כניסת השבת.</p>
<p style="font-size: 3.5vw;" dir="rtl"> ההורים הם שומרי שבת המתגוררים בקריית ארבע, ואילו הוא גר בירושלים ועובד בבית קפה ומדי פעם באבטחה. ההורים כלל לא ידעו שבכוונתו לנסוע לאבטח את המסיבה בקיבוץ רעים, ומניחים שהוא קיבל את ההחלטה רק מאוחר יותר באותו הערב.</p>
<p style="font-size: 3.5vw;" dir="rtl">בבוקר של מתקפת הטרור הרצחנית, כשמחבלי חמאס פרצו למסיבה והחלו לירות לכל עבר, ברחו איתן וחברו על נפשם. "איתן דיבר עם אחי כי הוא ידע שאנחנו לא נהיה זמינים בשבת", אומר צביקה.</p>
<p style="font-size: 3.5vw;" dir="rtl">"עד צאת השבת בכלל לא היה לנו מושג מה מתחולל במדינה ומה קרה לאיתן. כשהשבת יצאה אחי התקשר וסיפר שהוא לא שמע מאיתן מאז הבוקר". העדות האחרונה על איתן הייתה של אחד הניצולים, שסיפר כי ראה אותו ואת חברו מפנים גופות של שתי צעירות למקום בטוח. "מאז לא יודעים מה קרה להם".</p>
<p style="font-size: 3.5vw;" dir="rtl">כאשר הגיעו המחבלים לשטח המסיבה ברח איתן כשהוא לוקח אתו כחמישים צעירים שאסף ממקומות שונים בהם הם התחבאו בשטח.</p>
