Logs with Hub API

Is it possible to use logs with the Hub API on iOS? I couldn't find it publicly exposed on SentryHub or SentryClient.

@AndreasNasman, thanks for question. No, that's currently not possible. I'm clarifying if we plan to add this to all our SDKs, and will post an update here. What is your use case for it?

Thanks for the reply. I'm developing an iOS SDK framework that will be implemented by our clients in their applications. Here is a breakdown of our use case:

• Us
  • Own Sentry organization.
  • Want to see logs and capture errors in the framework/SDK we have developed.
  • Not interested in Sentry issues in the clients app; our clients handle issues in their app.
  • Methods in the framework can thrown on errors so the client app can react and handle such errors gracefully (show a message to the end user or similar).
• Clients
  • Might use Sentry or not.
  • If they use Sentry:
    • Own Sentry organization.
    • Want to see logs and capture errors in their app, or something else Sentry-related.
    • Not interested in Sentry issues in the framework; we handle issues in our framework.

As stated in the documentation, I understand that using Sentry in an SDK isn't encouraged, but I couldn't think of another solution for us. If something like this code worked, that would be satisfy our use case:

Thanks, @AndreasNasman, for the detailed use case. The SentryLogger uses a hub internally, but we didn't make the init method public because it requires two non-public dependencies. So it would be possible, but we still need to algin how the API should look like

OK, @AndreasNasman, I just clarified internally that the hub and client should also offer methods for capturing logs. I created a GH issue to change this: #6503. We are currently working on V9, and this issue will be part of V9.
